Dr. Hester holds a rare dual position in California higher education, with one foot on campus and the other across the entire system. This shapes how she designs workforce solutions and advises on responsible AI adoption.
Dean of Public Safety
San Diego Miramar College
Oversees more than 350 faculty and classified professionals across eight workforce training programs. These include California’s first Bachelor of Science in Public Safety Management, Fire Technology, EMT and Lifeguard training, Administration of Justice, the San Diego Regional Police Academy, and the San Diego Sheriff and Detention Academies. This is one of the few places where the future of work is being designed for firefighters, officers, and first responders.
